My work is inspired by the experience of 'being out there'. Drawn to wild places, living in North Pennine hills, walking and painting expeditions to remote highland and island areas.

Recent creative projects have enabled me to combine my love of walking and painting outdoors, from tramping the upland moors of the local North Pennines, to backpacking the length of Britain. On the journey I sketch and paint, absorbing and  responding rapidly to the unique place and weather I am experiencing.
